Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Data Analyst at WebMD Health Services, with our Analytics group, you will be working with a team dedicated to improving the health of more than 10 million people. This position will primarily consist of data retrieval, report generation, data analysis and data representation. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting a variety of projects with varying complexity and reporting requirements. You will work in both individual and team environments on a project by project basis and are given latitude to create effective solutions to address business needs that directly impact profitability.  The ideal candidate would combine experience with analytics, intermediate SQL skills, an impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

You should be a self-motivated person who is energized by interesting data challenges that, at the end of the day, matter.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using analytic techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Filter and “clean” data to locate and correct code problems
  • Present findings in written and oral format to stakeholders, including company executives and external clients
  • Perform ad hoc analysis beginning with understanding the question, developing the code, creating a business-focused presentation and interpreting the results.
  • Evaluate and suggest changes as necessary to optimize processes and efficiencies.
  • Participate in special projects as needed or requested.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at SQL, report writing and presenting findings
  • 2-3 years of data analysis experience is required
  • Intermediate proficiency with Office products, most importantly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, basic formulas, chart and graph creation) and Power Point
  • Experience developing with business intelligence tools (SAS, SPSS, R, Power BI, etc)

 

Preferred:

  • Statistics
  • Experience in the healthcare and/or wellness space
  • Teradata
