The Government Operations Account Manager is responsible for Contract Administration, Compliance, Billing and Program Management. Job accountabilities include:



  • Manage WebMD GSA pricing and product updates, as needed/required, in cooperation with internal legal department


Contract (Project) Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions (e.g., Period of Performance(POP), 508, status reporting)
  • Manage contract closeouts
  • Participate and contribute to contract reviews, including contract modifications
  • Maintain contract documents and ancillary materials



  • Subject matter expert for invoicing and billing requirements specific to government based business/individual contracts
  • Quarterly Industrial Funding Fee (IFF): Manage, oversee and ensure timely/accurate issuance
  • Maintain the invoice tracking system


Program Management

  • Independently manage the execution of projects (~30/year) consistent with CME industry regulations and requirements to meet revenue expectations
  • Review, manage and modify project plans/timelines to reflect aspects unique to each project 
  • Lead regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to communicate program goals and status
  • Mitigate project issues and identify potential for project accelerations; Offer creative solutions to overcome development issues
  • Prepare/present project reports for all stakeholders
  • Hire, facilitate contracts, track expenses and process payments for outside faculty, vendors and partners
  • Project Budget Management
  • Communicate company capabilities, processes and service to stakeholders as necessary
  • Ability to travel in support of all of the above responsibilities; approximately 5-10% of time (can be quite variable depending on the time of year and the nature of the work)





  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relatable experience
  • 5-8 year’s work experience with minimum 3 years in program management work (preferably in medical publishing, CME environment, or internet technologies)
  • Excellent organization, documentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience facing external clients
  • Ability to foster effective working relations across WebMD (including Sales, Legal, Finance) and with Contracting Officers of various Government Agencies.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while taking into consideration stakeholders based across multiple time zones
  • Extreme focus on accuracy, attention to detail and consistency of work
  • Understanding of contractual terms and conditions
  • Desire to meet deadlines and deliver results with minimum supervision
  • Strong project management approach of “responsible and driving” the programs versus passive ‘reporting’ on status
  • Experience using web-based project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Workfront)
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency and experience utilizing external reporting systems
  • This is a full-time, in-office position, so candidate must live in commuting distance to New York City



  • Prior experience working with governmental agencies
  • Contract management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with web-based sales management (Sales Force) and document sharing sites (Box and SharePoint)
