Responsibilities

Our new Enterprise Program Manager will join the newly created Technology Program Management Office (PMO), and assist in growing it into a high performing, Lean Agile delivery team. This position reports to the Director, PMO.

 

As an Enterprise Program Manager, you will:

  • Oversee and manage enterprise-wide initiatives & projects through their entire lifecycle, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Legal, Product, Engineering, Client Delivery, and Finance & Operations.
  • Serve as a strategic planning partner to the WebMD Health Services leadership and product & technology value streams.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, evaluate cross-functional dependencies and provide an additional escalation management path for teams, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Present the status of the Initiatives in a concise and clear verbiage that is understandable to the executives & other internal & external stakeholders.
  • Manage the financials for the initiatives – tracking to the budget, forecasting & reconciling the actuals against the forecasts & budgets.
  • Report on the key metrics on the progress of the initiatives, using objective evaluation supplemented by risks, issues, assumptions & dependencies to help in the decision making.
  • Plan and schedule the initiatives at a detailed level, considering the assumptions, internal & external risks, & dependencies, resource capacity and business critical dates.

  • Have a solid background in managing product portfolios and project teams in the consumer and B2B technology spaces.
  • Be skilled in balancing the use of qualitative and quantitative analysis to ensure projects achieve and exceed performance metrics and goals, on time and on-budget.
  • Have experience in collaborating and developing effective and adaptive Agile/PDLC/SDLC governance structures, process, and policies.
  • Have expertise leading complex programs involving multiple functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistent delivery of high quality project management services to improve business performance and efficiencies and/or complete key strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Senior Management in short and long-term planning and prioritization of key strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Create and drive key process improvement initiatives or conduct larger scale, cross-functional initiatives designed to improve delivery effectiveness, reporting, and individual ownership and accountability.
  • Drive definition and re-definition of processes / techniques to achieve a faster time to market for project delivery and the implementation of new methodologies when and where.
  • Ensure key departmental performance metrics are defined and achieved to support an overall commitment to continuous improvement (project definition cycle time, on-budget, on-time, etc.).
  • Ensure the establishment, adherence, and reporting of progrEnam budgets for team and business leadership.
  • Establish and report on project and program development and operational status for all levels of the business.
  • Ensure escalation paths for issues that delay or block project and program success. Ensure standards for the identification and tracking of project risks and issues.
  • Partner with internal teams and outside vendors/consultants where appropriate to ensure proper coordination, resource allocation, cost control, and service level compliance.
  • Ensure that the forecasts are current and YTD actuals are tracked and variances reconciled in a timely manner
  • Assist with the portfolio intake & prioritization as and when needed

 

Qualifications

  • Certified in SAFe 4.0/4.5 (SPC4, SA, SP ,SSM etc)
  • Working knowledge of Scaled Agile framework and other Lean-Agile principles and practices; ability to determine best fit for the product and business environment
  • Must have led a SAFe transformation initiative for 1 year or more
  • Experience working in organizational transformations that generater opportunities & creativity amidst ambiguity & constraints
  • 5+ years in program management for a B2B and/or consumer technology enterprise
  • 10+ years in project management for large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams, with a preference for Scaled Agile or Agile (at the team or enterprise level)
  • Experience working with enterprise project management systems such as Clarity, Primavera, HP PPM, JIRA portfolio etc
  • Experience in guiding organizations through the establishment, adoption, and evolution of product and software development life cycles (PDLC and SDLC)
  • Track record of leading multiple teams to ship software over successive releases to external customers/consumers on time and within established scope and budget.
  • Communicate deliverables in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to be proactive and communicate effectively with C level execs
  • Significant, flexible Agile development and iterative software delivery
  • Ability to effectively manage scope change within a project or program
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, analytical and development skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical and business concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
