WebMD Health Services is looking for a quality assurance analyst to help create our next generation of web-based health management applications.  As a member of the Product Development team, you will work side-by-side with developers, data architects, UX/UI designers, product owners and other testers to deliver robust, highly-usable, software solutions with the scalability to serve our rapidly growing private-portal business.  An ideal candidate has some experience in software testing and prior experience working cross-functionally using agile methodologies.


Major Responsibilities

  1. Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports on multiple projects of varying size
  2. Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process.
  3. Review user requirements documents to ensure that requirements are testable.
  4. Determine how to test new product and system features. Test them, and help others to test them
  5. Perform exploratory testing
  6. Document test cases that are useful for regressions
  7. Demo new features for acceptance at the end of each sprint
  8. Coordinate regression testing across the organization
  9. Assist the Director, Quality Assurance in providing monthly metrics for the organization

  • A college degree or equivalant work experience
  • Basic knowledge of software testing processes and best practices
  • 1+ years experience writing SQL queries with the ability to create and execute test cases
  • Experience testing web-based applications
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including interfacing with remote groups
  • Proficient PC skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Preferred Skills:

  • Computer Science or Management Information Systems degree
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
