Responsibilities

The Resource Manager, Content Creation/Copyedit Services is responsible for managing the resource planning, allocation, and project maintenance, and scheduling for the Content Creation/Copyedit Services department that includes full-time and freelance staff. The Resource Manager is responsible for assigning the right people to the right projects, and managing the department needs based on project and client requirements. In addition to the Content Creation/Copyedit Services team, the Resource Manager will also work closely with other department Resource Managers, the Client Services/Project Management team, Web/Email Production teams, and the MLR team to ensure that content development resources are aligned and assigned based on skill set, timing, and prioritization needs. The Resource Manager, Content Creation/Copyedit Services has a keen eye toward project management, and can ensure that projects and verticals are properly resourced to run efficiently and meet client and internal deadlines. This role will plan for incoming projects and implement resource changes against evolving priorities for existing projects. The ideal candidate has an excellent understanding of each writer’s professional disciplines, has experience with project workflow/management, and experience working in pharmaceutical/healthcare marketing, ideally in a Medical Writer capacity.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project assignment and ongoing project maintenance for the Medical Writer staff
  • Coordinate capabilities and workload by Vertical and project; demonstrates the ability to match team members against project needs, skill sets, and deadline requirements

  • Continuously assess team workload and balance accordingly
  • Closely partner with Client Services and implementation teams (Web/Email Production, Integration, etc) to ensure deadlines are met; maintain communication across departments to ensure consistent positive workflow
  • Lead daily department resource meeting and facilitate resourcing issues/conflict resolution
  • Lead daily cross-departmental traffic meeting
  • Monitor day-to-day project tasks, identifying potential areas for delay and actively work with department leads to address and solve issues before they arise
  • Manage resourcing dashboards for the department and individual resources via online project management workflow system (Workfront)
  • Serve as first point of contact and escalation for day-to-day writing and task-related issues, and acceleration, and prioritization requests
  • Develop, recommend, and present resource management-related process improvements to broader Resource Management team on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain constant knowledge of Medscape Product offering and process as it relates to resourcing and workflow
  • Maintain constant knowledge of pharmaceutical company requirements and submission systems, including but not limited to, regulatory guidance, and annotation guidelines
  • Champion internal systems (i.e. Workfront) for higher productivity
  • Cross train with other departments for a 360 understanding of process/project workflow and coverage needs

 

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS, preferably in a scientific/medical discipline or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management, operations, or other relevant field preferred
  • 3+ years relevant experience working in a high-volume, process-oriented environment with a focus on online content development preferred
  • 3+ years relevant experience working in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare marketing, including direct experience working within pharmaceutical company requirements, submission systems, and regulatory guidance preferred
  • past experience as a Medical Writer a plus
  • Agency experience a plus
  • Experience using online workflow management tools (i.e Workfront)
  • Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability handle multiple tasks/responsibilities simultaneously
