Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.

Responsibilities

Are you a creative professional with a diverse set of video production skills? Do you consider yourself a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ in producing videos, someone who can plan, shoot, edit, and deliver high-quality videos by yourself?

Medscape, a division of WebMD, is seeking an associate multimedia producer to join the MedSims team in Durham, North Carolina. MedSims simulations are used by physicians all over the world to earn continuing medical education credits and stay abreast of the latest treatment practices.

We are looking for someone who has a diverse set of skills, is willing to take on multiple roles, and is not afraid of pushing the boundaries of their skillset. This person will support the multimedia team in all studio-related work out of the Durham office.

The MedSims office provides a collaborative environment with a group of passionate individuals -- all focused on delivering a high-quality product, and innovating on new ones.

 

What You Will Be Doing at WebMD:

 

  • Pre-production duties including talent recruitment and shoot scheduling
  • Studio set-up, breakdown, and overall organization
  • Working on all production-related tasks during shoots including lighting, camera    operation, audio recording and monitoring, teleprompter control, producing, directing etc.
  • Post–production audio and video editing
  • Creating demo videos showcasing software including script writing, storyboarding, screen capturing, and editing
  • 360 video production for virtual reality platforms
  • Staying abreast of all the latest video technologies and equipment
  • Equipment administration

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2 years’ experience with multimedia production
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a production environment
  • Proficiency with non-linear editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Avid or Final Cut)
  • Proficiency with audio editing software (e.g., Audition)
  • A highly-motivated, self-starting attitude able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and research solutions
  • A strong desire to learn new skills and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Please provide production reel and other relevant multimedia production experience

Preferred

  • Experience in 360 video production for virtual reality development
  • Understanding of other Adobe Creative Cloud Software (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • 3D compositing / animation skills
  • Experience creating and lighting studio sets
  • Experience working in Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Screenwriting experience
