The Marketing Manager is a pivotal team member with strong impact to the success of the WebMD business. Reporting into the Director of Marketing, the Manager supports multi-channel marketing for, with a special focus on audience cultivation: acquiring new subscribers, developing the correct audience segmenting, and executing on the overall audience growth and retention strategy.  


Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage & drive a multi-channel strategy for an annual digital marketing roadmap focusing on promoting awareness, acquisition growth, and increased utilization
  • Manage the development of creative & copy for various acquisition/CRM & retention initiatives for WebMD’s email and Newsletter initiatives
  • Assist with subscriber acquisition testing and implementation
  • Manage database segmentation, messaging segmentation, & message sequencing strategy required for various marketing initiatives included branded emails
  • Work closely with product development teams & editorial teams on marketing positioning & overall communication strategy for products/services
  • Oversee tracking & analysis of campaigns to ensure results are meeting audience growth and retention goals
  • Measure & report performance of all digital marketing campaigns & assess against goals (ROI & KPIs); Compiling presentations to senior management on program performance
  • Conduct competitive analysis & market research; continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, & standards for campaign learnings
  • Brainstorm new & creative customer growth strategies; Plan, execute, & measure experiments & conversion tests


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years proven experience with digital marketing or brand organization; preferred content publishing experience
  • Experience supporting successful lifecycle programs at premium digital publishers
  • Demonstrable experience managing marketing databases, email, mobile apps, social media and/or digital marketing campaigns
  • Ability to write and communicate business and technical requirements for on-site initiatives
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying and optimizing target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement (ex: Omniture; Google Analystics, Optimizly, Adobe Analytics, or the like)
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and brand voice; Expert in creating a product/campaign narrative with a focus on online traffic generation, audience development and CRM functions
  • Highly motivated & self-starter who bleeds initiative & can easily prioritize short & long-term projects; ability to establish new processes & workflow optimizations.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Exceptional communication & presentation skills and the ability to work across multiple business units and with various stakeholders (oral, written & visual)
