    Responsibilities

    WebMD Health Services (WHS) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Program Management Office (PMO), and drive the future of WHS Product Development. This role will be that of a catalyst that enables Product Development to deliver products features that are meet very rewarding client experiences.

     

    Reporting to the PMO Director, this role will manage high profile cross functional SAFe Value Streams that span the breadth of WebMD Health Services.     Responsibilities:

    • This role will work in a Scaled Agile environment on a stable Value Stream team and manage multiple Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Value streams that are cross-functional teams comprising of Developers, QA, UX, Product managers and have been established to develop specific product & platform capabilities to align with the Product roadmap.
    • Lead all SAFe ceremonies for the Value Streams at the Iteration level and ensure that the teams on the ART are prepared for the PI planning.
    • Collaborate with DevOps & TechOps to ensure that the Value Stream critical & prioritized epics & sustainment issues are addressed & implemented by DevOps & TechOps per the PI plan.
    • Coach & mentor the teams on the implemented Scaled Agile practices so that the Value Stream can successfully plan and execute the Program Increment (PI), the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe organization. Ensure that the SAFe framework and rolled out standard practices are being followed.
    • Create, and contribute to key process improvement initiatives for the PMO and/or conduct larger scale, cross-functional initiatives designed to improve delivery effectiveness, visibility, and metrics based reporting or critical strategic initiatives.
    • Manage project risks proactively using risk register, identifying, assessing and resolving risks & issues promptly and proactively whenever possible, both internal & external to the Value Streams. Identify risk mitigation strategies. Detect and manage issues through to resolution. Escalate all risks and issues in a timely manner.
    • Manage the project financials including labor and non-labor forecasting as well as actuals tracking & reconciliation.
    • Manage project plans in MS Project as well as actively manage the project backlogs in JIRA.
    • Gather, assess, report on performance metrics at the PI and Iteration levels. Continually improve team velocity using JIRA, Easy BI, & Tempo time tracking metrics.
    • Escalate and provide visibility to the dependencies & issues that delay or block own Value Streams as well as impact others.
    • Communicate quickly, upwards & laterally, when planned Value Stream backlog items get reprioritized, re-scoped, or deferred.

    Qualifications

    • P.M.P and one or more of the following certifications:
    • SP (SAFe Practitioner)
    • SSM (SAFe Scrum Master)
    • SA (SAFe Agilist)
    • A.P.M (Certified Associate in Project Management).
    • S.P (Certified Scrum Practitioner)
    • PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner)
    • Strong Product Development acumen with 10+ years of experience managing large, complex enterprise-level software development projects consisting of multiple onshore & offshore teams of Product Manager, Developers, QA , UX Designer & Architect.
    • Strong agile project management and scrum master background, with demonstrated experience in at least one Scaled Agile transformation.
    • Performance & status reporting via JIRA, Excel and other PPM tools (subjective and objective metrics-based).
    • Have successfully thrived in an enterprise-wide transformation amidst ambiguities & fast paced changes.
    • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.
    • Knowledge of and the ability to apply the SAFe Framework
    • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in: Jira, Rally, Version One or equivalent
    • Excel, Word, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Visio (or similar) tools​
