    The marketing specialist is an integral member of the Medscape program marketing team. This position shall create and manage the direct marketing plans to achieve contractual traffic goals for direct-to-consumer/patient promotional programs, such as funded microsites/destinations. The role encompasses the tracking, analysis, reporting and optimization of complex marketing campaigns.     • Create, execute, and optimize direct-to-consumer marketing plans to ensure traffic goals are met for promotional online programs 

    • Manage program reports for a large group of Marketing Managers including the management of the monthly process across multiple teams, submitting ad-hoc requests, QA of data and posting for Sales
      • Manage daily promotional emails for the Marketing team including coordination of the schedule, QA of lists and creative, and troubleshooting issues
      • Review and approve all marketing materials in development, including copy, creative, and layout 
      • Ensure best practices are followed
      • Closely track performance of tactics and progress of programs on a daily basis, adjusting marketing tactics as necessary to meet client objectives and contracted deliverables. 
      • Analyze traffic of all programs and provide strategic analysis of campaigns/creative units
      • Optimize list targeting and segmentation to improve response rates and overall yield
      • Interface directly with sales and internal teams on specific program performance
      • Cross-functionally manage all internal teams, including business intelligence, project management, and production teams, around tracking and reporting of marketing tactics and overall campaign
    • Create insightful monthly program performance decks for Sales and our clients 
      • Support timely delivery of internal and client-facing reporting for a portfolio of assigned programs as needed.
      • Confirm metric issues within the reporting system and Omniture. Work with reporting system technology and Business Intelligence teams to identify and resolve data issues.
      • QA of daily promo emails and large data sets such as user engagement data 
      • Support a team of Marketing Managers with daily requests such as reporting creation, ad-hoc analysis, data QA, discrepancy troubleshooting and other asks.
      • Analyze behavioral and content consumption trends in promo programs via multiple technologies and variables such as geo-location, day part, explicit consumer preferences and behavior-based audience segments.
      • Resource Management – assigning daily tasks to the team of Marketing Managers
      • Communicate with client service and other internal stakeholders regarding program performance, capturing requests and preferences, and managing expectations. Mitigate risks and escalate issues as needed.


    • BS/BA required or equivalent work experience
    • 1-3 years combined experience in any of the following: sales operations, digital marketing related field, i.e. Digital agency, digital analytics.
    • Experience in digital marketing, including email, media, and contextual linking 
    • Advanced MS Excel and Access skills
    • Experience working directly with a sales team, i.e., sales deployment, sales analytics, sales
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Excellent analytical skills 
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
    • Responsible, accountable and result-driven



    • Knowledge of databases/database marketing a plus
    • Pharmaceutical marketing experience a plus
